Miami Sansei Goju Ryu

Miami Sansei Goju Ryu has established itself as one of the premiere Martial Arts studios in the world, as evidenced by its current fourteen World Black Belt Champions, as well as by the martial artists who travel hundreds, and in some cases thousands of miles to train at Miami Sansei Goju Ryu.  The athleticism, creativity, and daring make this sport unlike any other, and no one in the world does it better than the students of  Miami’s SANSEI GOJU RYU whose current team members consistently demonstrate the creative genius that brings the excitement of imminent greatness to the stage every time they compete. 

Team Sansei promotes excellence not only in karate, but in all positive aspects of life.   Education, teamwork, and giving back to the community are taught and practiced as a way of life.  The mission of Team Sansei is to use Martial Arts as a medium through which to create well rounded, caring and strong individuals who will contribute to society.

The Home of Team Sansei is Miami Sansei Goju Ryu.  The team and school is coached by Arturo Espina Kyoshi, a seventh degree Black Belt in the style of Sansei Gojo Ryu.  Sansei Goju-Ryu is the third generation of Gojo-Ryu karate whose lineage can be traced back to the White Crane style of Sholin Temple . Kyoshi Espina , also holds Black Belts in Judo and Karate-do, and has been practicing Marital Arts since the age of five, enriching him with thirty-six years of experience in Martial Arts, over twenty of those years as a an instructor.

Kyoshi Espina has witnessed and therefore firmly believes that karate can be used as a tool to keep students on the right track.  Through training and discipline of the body and mind students develop a strong sense of self respect which enables them to better cope with all of life’s challenges, rejecting the negative influences i.e., drugs, alcohol, violence and other irresponsible behavior, while focusing on the positive aspects of life such as the pursuit of righteousness, to strive for excellence in all endeavors, devotion to family, community, and country.

Particular importance is placed upon education and empathy toward others.  Therefore students must be doing well in school in order to advance in rank and be given permission to compete in tournaments.  Team Sansei is actively involved in fundraisers for a wide range of charitable organizations, raising money for the Autism Research Foundation, Diabetic Research Foundation, American Red Cross 9/11 Relief Effort,, Give Kids the World Organization, and the 2005  Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  Team Sansei has also made donations to worthy individuals and causes who have made their needs known.
